Website Description
NZ Class Online is a trusted platform for both online and in-person tutoring, designed to connect tutors, coaches, and professionals with students. Our mission is to support learning, foster knowledge sharing, and build meaningful human connections.

As an intermediary, NZ Class Online does not guarantee payments for lessons exchanged between students and tutors.

While we strive to ensure the accuracy and quality of the information presented in tutor listings — including qualifications, contact details, and availability — we cannot provide absolute guarantees. All users must create a profile to access and interact with others on the platform. Each user agrees to maintain only one profile, which can be updated, managed, or deleted at any time via their dashboard or upon request via email.

Use of NZ Class Online’s services is strictly limited to individuals of legal age. Any contracts for services or purchases made through the platform must be entered into by parties legally entitled to do so under applicable federal and state laws. Student use of the platform is intended solely for individuals seeking tutoring services for personal use. Users who contact tutors to promote unrelated business ventures are in breach of the platform’s intended use.

NZ Class Online also reminds users that they must comply with all applicable labour, business, and tax laws in New Zealand, including requirements outlined by the New Zealand Companies Office and Inland Revenue. This includes compliance with NZBN and GST obligations.
Submission of advertisements and distribution
Tutors are free to create and publish their profiles on NZ Class Online using the simple process available by clicking "Become a Tutor" on the homepage. Members can post up to five unique teaching ads, organizing them by subject area (such as arts, science, or sports), or dedicating each ad to a specific subject.

Each listing must be distinctly different and carry a unique title to avoid SEO duplication issues on platforms like Google.

Tutors must ensure all content in their listings—text, photos, and videos—is original and rights-owned. Listings must not contain false, misleading, or illegal content. Additionally, tutors may not represent a business entity, and personal contact details (such as address, phone number, or email) are strictly prohibited. Violating this may result in the listing being suspended or the tutor being removed from the platform.

Tutors are expected to be transparent about their credentials and lesson offerings. While NZ Class Online strives to maintain quality and accuracy, it cannot guarantee the truthfulness of each listing. It is the student’s responsibility to verify tutor information and report discrepancies to NZ Class Online.

Publishing tutor listings is free. However, tutors can opt for a Premium subscription, which increases the visibility of their profiles for one year at a cost of $99. This subscription auto-renews annually but can be canceled at any time via the tutor dashboard or by contacting NZ Class Online support. Tutors have full control over managing or canceling their subscription from day one.

Tutor contact information is only shared with students once the tutor accepts a lesson request, indicating a willingness to communicate directly and arrange the first session.

All site pages are protected by HTTPS, and all member data is securely encrypted. NZ Class Online does not store banking information and does not sell or rent member data. As NZ Class Online operates out of France, international transaction fees may apply.

Messaging Tutors and Subscriptions

After browsing tutor listings, students may message the tutors of their choice. These initial messages must be sent through the NZ Class Online platform and must not include any contact information like emails or phone numbers. Violating this policy may result in message deletion and management fees still being charged without a guaranteed tutor match.

To contact tutors, students must purchase a Student Pass subscription for $59 per month. This fee is separate from a tutor's hourly rate. Payment is only fully processed when a tutor accepts the student’s lesson request. If no request is accepted, the amount may be held by the bank but not processed.

The Student Pass allows students to message tutors throughout the subscription period. It renews automatically every 30 days, but can be canceled at any time through the dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Once a tutor accepts a lesson request and contact details are shared, the Student Pass is non-refundable unless no lesson (including free ones) takes place due to the tutor’s fault. NZ Class Online may require proof before issuing a refund.
Refunds will not be granted if a student backs out after the tutor has confirmed availability. However, if a tutor is proven to be unavailable or unresponsive, NZ Class Online may refund the Student Pass for that month. Future payments remain the student’s responsibility to cancel.

Refunds are also not granted if the tutor refuses to complete assignments, exams, or similar work on behalf of the student.

If a tutor declines a request, the student will automatically be matched with similar tutors. If interested, students can click “Discuss” to initiate contact—this also activates the subscription.

Payments, Commissions & Lesson Packs

Students and tutors can arrange payment either through the NZ Class Online platform or independently. If using the platform, NZ Class Online charges a 10% commission on the tutor’s hourly rate. This fee is waived for Premium tutors, who keep 100% of their earnings.

For students purchasing multiple lessons, lesson packs (5 or 10 hours) are available. Payment is made upfront: tutors receive 50% immediately and the remainder once all hours are completed. Unused hours must be refunded directly by the tutor outside the platform.

Currently, PayPal is the only available payment method on NZclass.co.nz. While the platform is intended for New Zealand users, international tutors may advertise their services if they can receive PayPal payments in their country.
Confidence + Safety = Total Peace of Mind
I – Introduction

A teacher’s contact details are only shared with a student once the teacher accepts a lesson request and agrees to provide this information in order to schedule the first lesson.

All site pages are protected with HTTPS encryption, ensuring secure navigation and data transfer.

NZ Class Online does not store complete credit card information—only the last four digits are retained—and never sells or rents user data to third parties.

After reviewing tutor profiles, students can send lesson requests to those they feel are a good fit. These messages must not include any form of direct contact information such as phone numbers, email addresses, URLs, or mailing addresses. All communication must occur through the NZ Class Online platform.

To connect with tutors, students must subscribe to the Student Pass, which costs $59 per month. This allows unlimited messaging to tutors during the subscription period. The subscription renews automatically but can be canceled at any time via the student’s account settings.

If several tutors are available, students still pay only the $59 fee and may choose whichever tutor they prefer.

Refunds for the Student Pass are only available if no tutor is able to take the lesson request. In some cases, documentation may be required to process a refund. Please note that even in the event of a refund, deactivating the subscription remains the student’s responsibility via the cancellation process in their account.
If a tutor initially accepts but later rejects a request for reasons that are unethical or legally prohibited (e.g., being asked to complete assignments or exams), the student will not be eligible for a refund.

As a tutor on NZ Class Online: You agree not to assist or enable academic dishonesty, including plagiarism or cheating.

As a student on NZ Class Online: You agree not to request help with completing assignments, taking quizzes, writing papers, or performing any task that violates your school or employer’s integrity policies.

All new tutors are required to offer a free first session, clearly marked as "1st lesson free" on their ad. Failure to comply may result in suspension or removal of the listing. The default length of this session is one hour but can be adjusted, with a minimum of 30 minutes. The session’s content should be clearly described in advance. Tutors can opt out of this policy only once they’ve reached Master Tutor status, which includes at least four recommendations, one review, an uploaded qualification, and a response time under 24 hours.
